As an artist, my work often centers on themes of time, memory, and feminine identity. Through my explorations in the GCVA program, I’ve extended my practice into textiles and painting, exploring a broader range of medium and engaging in direct, interactive experiences with them.
The two pieces exhibited here stem from a long-term observation of a shared destiny among women and the intricate, often delicate connections they hold with time and the family space. The house is a principal site of our shared experiences, a place we feel bound to but cannot easily escape. Despite its towering physical form, it feels both heavy and confined, sometimes like a sugar cube. It isolates inner and outer spaces, sheltering the women I know who spend their days in a timeless blur, unseen by others. This reality fills me with a quiet unease. My depictions and imaginings of these layered relationships merge my reflections on the past, concerns for the future, and a few expectations that, though not overly sentimental, carry a gentle hope.
