An obsessive compulsion to find the picturesque in what is deemed to be grotesque.
My practice is rooted in communicating the female gaze in an unconventional matter, navigating my own existence by my visualising of female friendships.
Through continuous exploration of the same subjects in positions or situations that can be considered alarming, these bold depictions explore a romanticised take on longing, obsession, grief, desperation and desire; challenging the delicate balance of attraction and repulsion.
Alamort is a love letter. A continuous archive representing a fragment of a larger narrative where delicate, intimate scenes coexist with unsettling, raw depictions of obsession and desperation. It is a testament to the fragility of existence. The work discusses ideas that haunt me, captured in a way that will in turn, attempt to haunt the viewer. Despite the lack of my own visual presence, I am at the core of every image.
