Jaja Bocateja
Over the years, my work has evolved from paintings and photographs to varying forms, material assemblages and interactive installations, dictated by conceptual ideas mostly driven by humour. I like to think of my works as vessels of memories and consciousness through which stories are told. Lived experiences, relationships, societal observations, musings, conversations with people, and the everyday, are fertile grounds in my art making. I am intrigued by the intricacies of the human condition and examine its multi-layered facets, often, through a humorous lens.
