Georgia Robinson

I am an artist rooted in the diverse environments of West Gippsland. Embracing the fleeting moments and dense landscapes that surround me, my practice aims to share the beauty of where I call home. It is there, I have fostered a deep admiration for nature and more particularly, flowers. Growing up amid the threat of natural disasters, I’ve become attuned to how delicate and emotionally charged our plants and ecologies are. Seduced by curiosity, and of seeing a place or form as if for the first time, I wish to capture through my paintings; the mood, spirit and momentary connection between the flora and my eyes. The flower serves as a powerful symbol of self-reflection, transience and introspection. I offer to my audience an expanded set of relations and the experience of noticing something that could be gone tomorrow.
