Deb Wadeson

This Evoke series of ‘art’ books explores printmaking processes outside of standard conventions. I am keenly interested in the materiality & potentialities of printmaking, painting and drawing so I follow serendipitous discoveries and challenge the traditional methods of IMPRINTing.

My inspiration derives from the parallels I notice between the forms, life span & behaviours of natural objects and the human experience. The underpinnings of natural world; the elements, flora, fauna, colour, texture & form are key to my compositions. I feel there are lessons to be learnt when one witnesses nature in a curious and conscious manner. When fully immersed in nature we see, listen and feel more deeply and in turn, we surrender to a type of unselfing. This felt sense is core to my work and the emergent ‘conversations’ I have when onsite in remote areas. It is these very aspects of the sublime that intrigue and engage me.
