Cecilia Amorim-Robertson

My work spans across sculpture, installation, photography, and collage, all of which serve as tools to critically examine the representation of women in classical nude paintings. Through my art, I seek to challenge and disrupt the traditional, often objectifying lens through which women have been historically depicted. I explore the long-standing association between women and the botanical world. This connection, once celebrated for its beauty and fertility, has also been used to confine women to particular roles. By intertwining natural forms with female imagery, I aim to reclaim this narrative, reinterpreting it to reflect empowerment, resilience, and complexity.
