Ameliethompson843@gmail.comI work with repetition. It relates to my personal pattern of avoidant behaviour and desire for safety. I envision a form three-dimensionally and find great excitement when I bring my ideas into a physical sense. I work predominantly with found objects that have an immediacy to them. A tactility that can be altered and changed by my hands alone. I am interested in the discarded or rather our perception of what is of use or value in all aspects of life.
I often find myself avoiding ‘risk’ for perceived safety. I find comfort in the familiar and joy from the mundane. If I were a snail would my shell ever break? Would I be so brave to venture out of the confines of my garden bed?
