Olivia Guardiani
If only I had an anchor, I wouldn’t feel this pressure. Something to steady me. The weight of the ground below me. Unseen, silent, heavy. Always shifting. My work informs, and is subject to, these forces. Casting, fiber-glassing, electroplating. Bringing the forces forth from between the plates.
The surface is never just the surface. There is always more beneath. We ourselves are material: compacting, fusing, pulled apart, dancing, again and again.
